SERVICES

Ecological Assessments and Advice
Ecological Assessments, such as Preliminary Ecological Assessments (PEA), are usually required for any form of planning application. JW Biodiversity Management are able to provide experienced ecologist to conduct a site assessment and prepare a detailed and comprehensive report to assist in your planning application.
We will align our recommendations with current legislation, policy and accepted guidelines to help ensure the required standard is met.
We will work closely with you on your project provide bespoke advice detailed to meet your needs and timelines.

Biodiversity Net Gain Assessment
A Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) assessment is becoming mandatory for most development and planning applications.
JW Biodiversity Management have experience in conducting BNG assessments using the DEFRA metric and producing detailed habitats maps for both baseline and proposed outlines.
We will work closely with the project team to help design a deliverable solution to ensure the required net gain is achieved.
We are also able to produce suitable long-term management plans that are required as well as helping to arrange any off-site credits that you may require.

Biodiversity Management and Enhancement
We have a great deal of experience in working with landholders to produce long term biodiversity management and enhancement. We are experts in assessing a site, large or small, and producing individualised habitat management plans that will deliver measurable ecological enhancement whatever the type of site is or the available resources.
We have experience in helping companies achieve the Wildlife Trusts Biodiversity Benchmark Award. This management system-based award is a challenging but rewarding certification to achieve.

BREEAM
We have experience in providing assistance with Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology (BREEAM) helping projects to achieve the desired score by providing informed ecological advice.
We will work closely with your project team to produce a detailed report to cover all aspects of the Land Use and Ecology sections of the BREEAM.

Species Licensing and Mitigation
At JW Biodiversity Management we are able to provide expert ecologist to apply for and obtain protected species licences from Natural England. Including a full range of bat licenses and Great Crested Newt licenses.
We are also experienced on acquiring licences for works involving badgers,
hazel dormice, and Water Vole.
We are able to provide bespoke mitigation plans and work closely with you to deliver the required mitigation on the ground. We have experience in a wide range of ecological migration projects including habitat restoration and creation as well as species translocations.
We have worked on several different types of projects developing and delivering the required mitigation to help achieve planning permission.
